Hello! My name is Kim Friesen and I have been a Registered Psychologist in Medicine Hat for 10 years. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a Mom. Sharing your lived experience with someone takes a tremendous amount of courage and your therapeutic journey should be grounded in trust, allowance, and unconditional acceptance.
Using a holistic approach and drawing upon a variety of different forms of therapy, I work collaboratively to address present intrapersonal and interpersonal issues and to heal unresolved relational traumas or ruptures that when untreated can often manifest in other symptoms.
Sharing your story with someone is a privilege to that person and the therapeutic relationship is extremely unique and special. I invite you into that process and hope to make a connection with you.
Kim also provides clinical supervision for both provisional psychologists onsite.

About Ana
Ana Schlosser, MSc, is the Founder and Director of Psynergy Centre Health & Wellness. She is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and an experienced mental-health leader, program architect, and advocate for innovative, culturally responsive models of care.
Over more than 25 years, Ana has worked across a wide range of mental-health and human-service environments, including early childhood and school-based services, child protection, crisis response, forensic and correctional settings, community mental health, and private practice. She worked primarily with children and families during the earlier part of her career before developing specialized expertise in adult trauma, complex mental-health presentations, and occupational stress injuries.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ana moved to Alberta in 2008 to work in forensic psychology under the North American Free Trade Agreement involving Alberta Juvenile Justice and Alberta Health Services. She entered private practice in 2014, founded Medicine Hat Counselling Collective in 2018, and established Psynergy Centre Health & Wellness in 2021.
Through Psynergy, Ana has built and coordinated a multitude multidisciplinary community of independent health professionals. Her leadership has included clinic development, practitioner collaboration, program design, client-experience systems, policy implementation, staff training, quality improvement, risk management, and the creation of pathways connecting clients with specialized services.
Ana was also the principal architect behind the development of Psynergy Centre’s licensed Psychedelic Drug Treatment Service. Her work included program development, regulatory preparation, clinical systems design, interdisciplinary coordination, operating procedures, quality assurance, and governance support. This experience gave Ana a rare understanding of what it takes to move an emerging treatment model from vision to an ethically grounded and operationally viable healthcare program.
Ana has completed extensive education in ketamine- and psychedelic-informed care, psychedelic harm reduction, preparation and integration, and culturally responsive practice. She received a MAPS scholarship for MDMA-assisted therapy training for PTSD, served with the Zendo Project’s psychedelic peer-support team at Burning Man in 2023, and received a 2026 scholarship for Chacruna Institute’s Diversity, Culture and Social Justice in Psychedelics program.
Her clinical work is grounded in trauma-informed, relational, somatic, and evidence-based approaches. She has particular experience supporting people affected by trauma and PTSD, OCD, complex presentations, and operational stress injuries, including first responders, public-safety professionals, active-duty military members, and veterans.
Throughout her career, Ana has been most energized by building what does not yet exist: collaborative programs, innovative care, culturally grounded services, meaningful client experiences, and systems that help people access the right support. She brings together clinical insight, operational leadership, cultural humility, creativity, and an ability to translate complex ideas into compassionate, practical care.
As a Mexican American woman and immigrant to Canada, Ana’s work is informed by her lived experience and her commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, community, and culturally respectful approaches to healing. She is especially interested in models that honour multiple ways of knowing while maintaining clear ethical, clinical, and regulatory foundations.

Bina (Standard Poodle) was born May 4, 2022 and is an inaugural participant to the Paws 4 Resiliency program. She supports our staff, clients and community as needed to bring joy and provide comfort and security to those on their healing journey.
Bina was named after Maria Sabina who was a Mazatec Mexican curandera, poet and shaman. A curandera is a Mexican healer or medicine woman, who uses folk remedies or medicines that are not prescribed by a doctor. Maria Sabina’s wisdom and gift led her to serve as a bridge between the mystical and ritual worlds of her people, and the mystical exploration of the Western world through utilization of mushrooms as healing agents.
If you are interested in bringing Bina to your site or visit her at her office please contact our team.
